  • i: insert

tail : get the last lines(10) from a file

tr : remove character from file
  • tr -d ‘r’ < data.txt > data2.txt -> remove character ‘r’ on data.txt and write to data2.txt
zip : zipping file(s) /folder(s)

GRUB (GRand Unified Bootloader) is bootloader for several distro of linux, for example Ubuntu. LILO and GRUB are required for boot linux OS and other operating system in your computer that have been detected.

Windows doesn’t have loader that can detect any OS in your computer. Windows bootloader just load windows OS and overwrite the other loader.

Now, how to make your GRUB back?

I use Ubuntu 9.4 with GRUB configuration.

To get back your GRUB conf just do list above:


root:~# sudo grub

grub> find /boot/grub/stage1
grub> root (x,y)
grub> setup (x)
grub> quit
root:~# reboot

Very easy, right? So, don’t be anxious to make a dual boot computer.

3. root:~#: mount /dev/hda2 /mnt/boot (or change hda2 with your partition name)

4. root:~#: mount -t proc proc /mnt/proc

5. root:~#: mount --bind /dev /mnt/dev

6. root:~#: chroot /mnt

7.
root:~#: lilo -M /dev/hda (or change had with your partition type)


8.
root:~#: lilo


9.
root:~#: exit

10. root:~#: reboot

Very easy, right? So, don’t be anxious to make a dual boot computer.

SETUP MIKROTIK AS GATEWAY

Now, I will let you know how to setup MIkrotik as Gateway server.
  1. First, install Mikrotik RouterOS on your server PC.
  2. Login mikrotik with console.

3. After that, you can go inside on Mikrotik Server. Your username is “admin” and without password by default.
4. If you want to setup password:
[admin@Mikrotik] > password
old password: ****
new password: *******
retype new password: *******

5. To identify your interface on your PC that installed on MIkrotik
[admin@Mikrotik] > interface print

6. Give IP address on every interface that you’ve installed.

7. To see the configuration of IP address:

8. Give the default gateway. For the example, gateway for internet connection is 192.168.0.254

14. Setup masquerading. If Mikrotik that we used as gateway server, we should masquerading due to be connected into internet.

INSTALL LINUX SLACKWARE UNDER 300MB+webserver !


Install Slackware maybe is so simple way. but how if the size of installation must not bigger than 300 MB and you must include the webserver.
the first question is why install the Linux with small size?
the answer is to prepare the system to be embedded into small hardware (tiny computer), so, the system must be very-very efficient.
the second question is how?
